Bibb County teams have Thursday kickoffs

            Ed Defore Sports Complex is host to a longtime Macon rivalry, while another Bibb County public school team heads to Columbus for region play.
            Central visits Kendrick in 2-AA action.
            Kendrick has as many wins this year as it had in the last two, going 2-18, and is on target for its highest win total since 3-7 in 2015. The Cherokees’ have lost 14 straight to five Bibb County public school opponents.
            Central is 0-4 for the second straight year, and broke the skid last year with a 27-21 win.
            Also in 2-AA action, Southwest (2-2/1-0) and Northeast (3-1/1-0)  meet for the 54th time, Northeast holding a 28-25 lead and on a five-game winning streak.
            It’s been pretty one-sided the last several years, Northeast winning by 1, 6, 28, 42 and 40 since Southwest’s last win, 18-7 in 2017, ending a five-game Raiders win streak.
            Southwest quarterback Chase Dupree is third in AA with 1,119 yards, completing 67.9 percent of his passes with 10 touchdowns and four interceptions.
            Carmelo Mays has caught 19 passes for 397 yards, third in AA, with Malik Sands adding 333 yards on 10 catches (seventh).
            Northeast counters with running back Nick Woodford and quarterback Reginald Glover (stats have not been updated).
