          The shutout was broken with a full 9:05 left in the game, but only by a field. Ball State’s other good note was holding Georgia scoreless in the fourth quarter.

          Freshman CJ Allen of Lamar County had three tackles for Georgia.

          Weather delayed kickoff, and delayed Fort Valley State hammering Clark Atlanta.

          The Wildcats scored 30 second-half points to roll in the SIAC opener. Eight different players caught passes for FVSU from quarterback Kelvin Durham, who was 18 of 26 for 198 yards and two touchdowns, no interceptions.

FVSU’s defense, keyed in part by Macon County grad Landon Austin, held CAU to 15 first downs and 39 yards rushing.
