Baldwin’s Bullard facing new challenges

First MLB save for Cox (FPD/Mercer)

          Kansas City clearly has plans for former FPD and Mercer pitcher Austin Cox.

          Whether it’s as a starter or reliever is the question.

          No matter, for Cox keeps going where the Royals want him, and he recorded his first MLB save on Friday after throwing a shutout inning in his first save opportunity.

          Cox  is now 0-1 with a save in 15 games, and has 23 strikeouts and 14 walks n 27.2 innings, opponents hitting .194 against him.

          Kansas City has been out of the playoff race for awhile, but the 26-year-old left appears to be very much in the Royals’ plans for future contention.
