Mercer pitcher Ryan Slobus didn’t get drafted, but didn’t stay unemployed long. He signed a free-agent contract on Thursday with Texas. He went 5-4 in 17 games with 11 starts as a junior in 2023, fanning 74 and walking 29 in 63.1 innings with a 6.96 ERA.
