Three straight four-run innings put ACE in control of the six-inning game, the Gryphons aided by five errors. Sam Whitley had three hits and four RBI form the leadoff spot. Nosey Sardoma, Fernando Washington, and Brice Whitley had two hits each, Whitley and Jake McLendon driving in three runs each.

Austin Yourn’s single to right brought in Eli Mullis with the walk-off game-winner in the bottom of the ninth, Mullis leading off the inning with a single and advancing to third on James Fordham’s single to right.

Nine in the third ended the first game, a three-inning no-hitter for Tanner Meeks, who fanned seven with no walks. Ben Broadnax, Justin Bentley, and Ridgon McCall each had two hits in the opener for the Red Devils. They got nine in the first inning of the three-inning nightcap, that included eight Dooly County errors, twice as many as in the opener. McCall had half of Hawkinsville’s hits, and drove in five runs.

The Knights scored twice in the top of the eighth, and held the Pirates to one run in the bottom half. Doubles from Trae Jones, Colby Hemphill, and Jackson Blakely brought in the runs for the Knights in the top half. Jones and Hemphill each had two hits, Hemphill and Blakely with two RBI each. Blakely struck out 10 with no walks and six hits in seven innings, Hemphill getting the save.
West Laurens 20, Spalding 1
The Raiders put up 11 in the second and nine in the fourth, ending it. Kaden Baggett had three hits and four RBI, with three-RBI games from Camden Thomas, Matthew Thigpen, and Janson Meeks, with three hits from Tucker Brown.

Reggie Troutman of Tattnall signed Monday to play football at Bluefield State.
Warner Robins’ Jada Morgan followed up on her commitment and signed with South Carolina State in women’s basketball. Teammate Tasia Agee signed with Coastal Alabama junior college.
Sam Blevins became Lamar County’s first scholarship wrestler when he signed with Reinhardt. Jaydin Glover signed to play football at LaGrange.
Brentwood’s Jeremy Kent signed with Toccoa Falls for men’s basketball, and teammate Jamarrie Davis signed with Reinhardt.
ACE had three signings recently: Grier Deedrick to Coker for women’s soccer, Grant Edwards and Gavin West to Gordon State for baseball.
FPD’s Shelby Simmons has signed to play volleyball at Reinhardt.

Central Georgians in GIAA individual semifinals
Two doubles teams and a single are among the Central Georgia players hoping to advance to GIAA individual state tennis finals on Tuesday.
The individual state tournament started Monday at Berry College. The team state tournament is next week at the South Bibb Recreation Complex and John Drew Smith Tennis Center.
The GIAA website posted updated brackets late Monday night, and was missing the Class AAA girls, but had girls doubles twice and did have AAA boys singles.
