Around/About Central Georgia

Mayhem captain Cameron retires, joins front office

Henley has decent round, but …

The good news for Russell Henley is that he had a fairly steady for first round of the RBC Heritage at Hilton Head.

The bad news is that he goes into the second round tied for 92nd.

On the other hand, he’s only eight shots back of leader Viktor Hovland.

Henley, who finished tied for fourth at the Masters, had two bogeys and a birdie, ending the day with the latter, for a 72.

There’s a logjam right in front of him, with 18 even and almost 30 at 1 under. Masters champ Jon Rahm is in that group tied for 92nd. Cameron Young tied for seventh last week and is in the pack tied for 75s at even.

There are 141 players starting the tournament, and the cut is the top 65 players and ties after 36 holes.
