Henley rallies for respectable loss
Seven holes in, Russell Henley was already down four shots in World Golf Championships match play at Austin Country Club.
Lucas Herbert was knocked down birdies, and Henley wasn’t, a bogey interrupting eight pars on the first nine holes.
The margin was five before Henley settled in to birdie six of his final eight holes, Herbert getting a one-up win.
Henley, as part of Group 14, faces off at 3:39 p.m. Thursday against Ben Griffin, who topped Tyrrel Hatton in their battle.
