Putnam County’s Kilgore making transition at South Carolina

Alums in town for South Carolina softball at Mercer

Central Georgia alums Karsen Ochs of FPD and Aniyah Black of Dodge County are in Macon this week for the Bear Invitational softball round-robin at Mercer.

Ochs, a senior, improved to 4-0 with the Gamecocks’ 11-1 win over Mercer, giving up three hits with six strikeouts and no walks in the five-inning game.

Black, a junior transfer from Georgia, got a pinch-hit single in the win over Mercer, and didn’t play in the 10-2 win over Jacksonville.

The 11-1 Gamecocks play Tennessee Tech Saturday at 6:30 p.m., Belmont at 10 a.m. on Sunday and Tennessee Tech right after that.
