Peach State connections

Mary Persons grad Malik Herring was active entering Super Bowl weekend, but was listed as a healthy inactive and didn’t play in the game.

Other Georgia high school connections: Harrison Butker (Westminster/Georgia Tech) kicked the game-winning field goal with eight seconds left and was good on all five PATs. Jerick McKinnon (Sprayberry/Georgia Southern) ran four times for 34 yards and caught three passes for 15 yards for KC. Orlando Brown (Peachtree Ridge) started at left tackle, and Jaylen Watson (Laney) started at CB and had three tackles.

TE Jordy Forston (Valdosta State) didn’t play, and Mecole Hardman (Elbert County/Georgia) was a medical inactive and placed on injured reserve last week.

Philadelphia CB Darius Slay (Brunswick) had four tackles, and RB Trey Sermon (Sprayberry) was inactive.

Former Georgia standouts Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean played but recorded no stats.
