Henley off to so-so start in delayed Phoenix

Russell Henley was among scores of players who didn’t get through but about half of the first round of the Phoenix Open.
The Stratford grad was one of about dozen who had 10 holes in their pocket when play was suspended. He was one of a big chunk of players – some finished, most not – in at tie for 82nd, out of 134 players.
Henley was at 2 over, and was most likely happy for the delay. After a birdie on 6, Henley reeled off three straight bogeys, and ended the day with a par on 10.
Play was suspended after a frost delay and gusty wind.
Henley dropped into a tie for 80th through 10 holes, a group that included Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Patrick Cantlay, and K.H. Lee, among others, who were done while Henley was still grinding.
