Former Mississippi State and Florida head coach and current ESPN college football analyst Dan Mullen is Monday’s speaker at the Macon Touchdown Club.

The club meets at the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, in the Rumford Center, at 304 Pierce Ave. It starts at 6:30 p.m. with dinner, and the program to begin around 7. Admission for non-members is $30.

Army’s Jeff Monken is next week’s speaker, followed by SEC/ESPN host Dari Nowkhah in the final week of the regular season.

His coaching career started at Wagner, and went to Column for two seasons after that. Then he was a grad assistant at Syracuse and Notre Dame.

Two-year stints at Bowling Green and Utah followed, then four at Florida as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach before his head coaching debut at Mississippi State.

After going 69-46 in nine seasons with the Bulldogs, and a 6-2 bowl record, he took over for Jim McElwain at Florida. He was let go after four seasons, going 5-6 in 2021 after a 29-9 start.

He was a consultant for a short period of time at Lake Oconee Academy in 2022, and then joined ESPN and ABC. The married father of three had a career record of 103-61.
