Southwest 52, ACE 51, 2 OT
The Patriots recorded one of their biggest wins in years with some of their most clutch play in years, overcoming multiple two-touchdown deficits. ACE led 36-28 at halftime, and it was tied at 36 after regulation, the Patriots converting for two in the second overtime for the win. Sophomore Chase Dupree completed 20 of 42 for 330 yards and five touchdowns, with no interceptions, Carmelo Mays catching nine for 230 yards and three scores. Aaron Davis went off for ACE on the ground for 246 yards on 24 carries and four touchdowns. Kaleb Scarbary was 19 of 28 for 237 yards and two scores, Brice Whitley with nine receptions for 116 yards.
Spencer 43, Central 0
Spencer earned the Region 2 title with the win combined with ACE’s loss to Southwest. Had the Gryphons won, their game next week with Spencer could have been for the region’s top seed. But the loss combined with Spencer’s win last week over Northeast gave the Greenwave Owls their second straight region title.

GHSA Playoffs
4A-Sonoraville 5, West Laurens 2
The season came to an end for the defending champs with an evening elimination-game loss. The Raiders (27-10) were down 4-0 before scoring in the sixth to pull within 4-2. Tannah Cobb had two hits and two RBI, and Chey Ann Phillips two hits for the Raiders.
4A-Seckinger 8, Perry 4
Seckinger put up six runs in the first two innings, and kept the Panthers from anything more than a one-run inning, winning despite three errors. The loss ended Perry’s season at 21-8.
A/II-Washington-Wilkes 4, GMC 2, 8 inn.
The Bulldogs were removed from the winner’s bracket after W-W scored two in the top of the eighth. That GMC got to eight innings despite eight errors is notable. Ashlyn Alford and Haley Knight teamed for four of GMC’s seven hits, the Bulldogs unable to earn a walk. After W-W took the lead, GMC got a one-out single in the bottom of the eight, but was retired in order after that. GMC plays Glascock County at 11 a.m. Friday in an elimination game.
