FVSU’s Wilson in NFLPA all-star game Saturday

The reigning SIAC Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year will be on a stage Saturday in hopes of improving his stock for the next level.

Fort Valley State’s Emanuel Wilson is on the National roster in the National Football League Players Association’s Collegiate Bowl, set for a 6 p.m. kickoff Saturday at the Rose Bowl. The NFL Network will carry the game.

The 5-11, 210-pounder announced on social media on Nov. 21 that he was leaving early for the NFL Draft.

The redshirt junior from Charlotte, N.C. ran for 1,371 yards on 209 carries and 17 touchdowns, ranking in Division II’s top 10 in four categories: all-purpose yards, rushing yards per game, rushing yards, and rushing touchdowns.

Georgia Tech’s Malachi Charter is on the National team, coached by Eddie George, and Jacket teammate Ayinde Eley and Georgia State’s Quavian White is on the national team, coached by Jeff Fisher.
