A few years ago, CJ Harris expected to play in Sanford Stadium, but as an Auburn Tiger.
He’s still going to be between the hedges, but with Kent State, when the Golden Flashes visit Georgia on Saturday.
The former FPD and Warner Robins player was headed to Auburn as a preferred walk-on, but he failed a physical. He had started taking cannabis oil to combat seizures, and that was banned by the NCAA.
He went to Highland Community College and played in four games, getting 9.3 tackles a game before spending 2020-21 at Arkansas State. He started six of the 16 games he played in, getting 37 tackles, 3.5 for loss.
This season, he has three solos and an assist, with one pass breakup as the No. 2 strongside linebacker.
Harris is one of seven players from Georgia on the Kent State roster.
