Area players in Coastal Plain All-Star game

West Laurens grad Nolan Daniel had the best outing of Central Georgia connections in Sunday’s Coastal Plain League All-Star game in Holly Springs, N.C.

Savannah’s Daniel, who plays at Purdue, was one of seven pitchers for the West, which beat the East 3-2. He gave up two hits and had a strikeout in an inning of relief.

Macon’s Mario Minzey went 0 for 2 as a DH and pinch-hitter. Teammate Bryce Matthews was on the roster but didn’t play.
