GHSA track, Friday: ACE's Hallar takes state (Central Georgia roundup)
The ACE boys team scored 11 points in last year’s GHSA state track meet.
Nathan Hallar has taken care of 10 points in hopes of passing that this year.
The junior from ACE captured Central Georgia’s only state title in Friday’s action at the GHSA state track meets.
He cut almost six seconds off of last year’s time when he finished sixth, and unofficially broke his own program record, set in last year’s meet.
Hallar won by less than two seconds. GMC’s Julian Council was third, seven seconds back.
There were a few other finals on Friday, but it was a day of mostly preliminaries for running events, which will take up Saturday.
The final events of the day, followed by trophy presentations, are scheduled to start around 4:30 p.m., but it’ll be closer to 5 p.m.
