ACE 7, Crawford County 5

          A pair of two-run innings in the middle put ACE on top, and the Gryphons held on. Trevor Derrick had two hits for ACE, while Luke Cody and Trevor West had two hits each for the Eagles, West with two RBI.

Calvary Christian 7, Westfield 6

          Calvary stopped Westfield’s four-run seventh-inning rally. Grey Brannen went 3 for 4 with four RBI to lead the Hornets.

GMC 9, Trinity Christian 3

          Christian Black and Trey Woods had two hits each for the Bulldogs, Blacks and Jason Heaybeard with two RBI each. Black struck out 15 with a walk and four hits in 6.1 innings.

Howard 5, Spalding 4, 9 inn.; Howard 9, Spalding 6

          Howard survived five errors in the opener, thanks to Kevin Thompson’s single to bring in Nate Campbell with the two-out game-winner. Thompson had two hits along with Jackson Smith, with Andrew Garnett driving in two runs. Gavin Williams led Howard in the nightcap with three hits and two RBI, Garnett adding two hits and three runs. Garnett and Williams teamed for 10 strikeouts and three walks.

Lee County 12, Northside 1

Peach County 12, Sumter County 0

          The Trojans scored 11 in the second of the 4.5-inning game. Bryce Harrelson, Colter Ginn, Alex Christian, and Jacob Harnist had two hits each, Harrelson with three RBI and Harnist with two RBI. Ke’Andre Towns and Aden New teamed for a five-inning no-hitter.

Rutland 6, Central 5

          The Hurricanes won it with three in the top of the seventh, the tying and winning runs coming in on Casen Summerday’s two-out double to left. RT Maddox went 3 for 3 with two RBI for Rutland, Trey Lawson adding two hits. Fisher Hopkins struck out seven with two walks in four innings of relief.

Upson-Lee 11, Jackson 1; Upson-Lee 13, Jackson 3

          Jackson Blakely struck out 12 in a five-inning two-hitter, pacing the offense with two hits and three RBI in the opener. Five pitchers teamed for 11 strikeouts in the nightcap six-inning three-hitter. The Knights had 11 hits in each game.

Wayne County 5, Veterans 3; Wayne County 3, Veterans 1

          The Yellow Jackets won the opener with two in the top of the eighth, aided in part by Veterans’ four errors and only two hits. Veterans had only four hits in the nightcap.
