6A-Houston County 15, Alcovy 0; Houston County 14, Alcovy 0

          The opener was over in three, thanks to an 11-run second. Kaden Galason drove in five runs on three hits for Houston County, while Gage Harrelson had three RBI on two hits. Drew Burress had two and two, with Hunter Chiappetta adding two hits and Garrett Hortman two RBI. Ryker Chavis, Burress, and Landon Tankersley teamed up for a five-inning one-hitter in the nightcap, with eight strikeouts and a walk. Burress had two doubles and a single to drive in four runs. Blaydn Alaniz also had three hits, with two from Chiappetta. Harrelson and Burress scored three times each and Elijah Smith added two RBI.

6A-Evans 14, Northside 0; Evans 10, Northside 0

          The Eagles were held to three hits in the opener, which included an 11-run third by Evans. They managed one more hit in the nightcap.

5A-Harris County 12, Jones County 2; Harris County 15, Jones County 3

          The Greyhounds were down 8-1 after three, striking out eight times while giving up nine walks. Chase Milton had two of Jones County’s six hits. In the night cap, they trailed 9-0 after three. Tucker Maddox drove in two runs with a sixth-inning triple.

5A-Veterans 12, Woodward 10; Woodward 5, Veterans 3

          The Warhawks scored three in the top of the seventh and gave one back in the bottom half of the opener. David Pryna tripled in the first seventh-inning run, with a run coming in on a wild pitch and one on a fielder’s choice grounder. Cody Daugherty went five innings and struck out 11, but reliever Brennan Mercer got the win. Woodward scored two in the seventh on a two-out double – at two batters were plunked - for the lead and got a game-ending double play in the bottom half. The Warhawks were held to five hits.

4A-Columbus 6, Howard 0; Columbus 10, Howard 0

          Howard had only two less hits, but struck out 16 times. Gavin Williams had two of the Huskies’ five hits in the opener. Columbus needed only five innings in the one-hit nightcap.

4A-Perry 5, Shaw 1; Perry 6, Shaw 0

          Perry took a 3-0 lead after one, and pitcher Carson Bryant went the distance, with eight strikeouts and two walks in a two-hitter, on 88 pitches in the opener. Bryant added two hits, along with Tyler Newhouse and Dylan Butler, Brayden Long with three hits. Ben McDow threw a four-hit complete-game shutout in the nightcap, with seven strikeouts and two walks. Newhouse and Tanner Knowles each had three hits and Bryant three RBI.

4A-Troup County 16, West Laurens 8; Troup County 9, West Laurens 7

          A two-inning 11-run burst lifted Troup County, which outhit West Laurens 13-11. William Kellam and Gunnar Jeffers had three hits each for the Raiders, Janson Meeks adding two. The Raiders scored in the first five innings of the nightcap, but Troup County’s eight-run second was bigger. Janson Meeks< Jace Thompson, and Camden Thomas had two hits each for the Raiders, who couldn’t take advantage of a hit advantage and four Troup County errors.
