Janaye Walker turned another huge game, with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Kassidy Neal added her own double double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Madison Rough had14 points and six rebounds, and Tamia Smith 10 points as the Bravettes advance to their first Elite Eight since 2009.

After a scoreless first, ACE put up all 17 in the next three innings for a four-inning game. Grant Edwards gave up a hit in four innings and 56 pitches. Noey Sardoma had three hits and two RBI for Ace. Sam Whitley, Gavin West, and Edwards had two hits each, West with four RBI.

The visitors went on top for good with five runs in the third. Jason Lann had two of the Indians’ six hits. Lann and Braylon Mincey teamed for a seven-hitter with 10 strikeouts.

Houston County 8, Locust Grove 3; Houston County 7, Hartselle, Ala. 6, 8 inn.
The Bears survived six errors to win the opener, thanks to a five-run fourth. Drew Burress had three of Houston County’s nne hits, Kaden Galason and Garrett Hortman with two RBI each. The nightcap was wild. Houston County lead 2-0 after five, Hartselle scored six in the top of the sixth only for the Bears to storm back with four in the bottom half to tie it. And in the bottom of the ninth, Hartselle gave it away with a walk to Eli Stephens, and two more walks to load the bases, and then a game-clinching wild pitch. Burress, Andrew Dunford, and Hunter Chiappetta had two hits each for Houston County, Burress with two RBI and a homer.
Jones County 6, Veterans 3
Chase Milton and Marlin Mills had two hits apiece for Jones County, which scored all six in the first two innings. Brennan Mercer had two hits for the Warhawks. Jones County starter Quin McManmon fanned 13 with a walk in six innings.
Mount de Sales 12, Howard 7; Mount de Sales 9, Howard 7
The Cavs broke open a 4-4 tie with five in the fifth, only for the Huskies to get three back in the bottom half. MdS sealed it with three in the seventh. The Cavs doubled up the Huskies in hits, 16-8, while Howard had twice as many errors. Drew Senn had four hits and three RBI for the Cavs, who got two-hit games from Bricen Smith, Fernando Washington, and Landen Moore to go with a three-hit effort from Jordan Green. Andrew Garnett had five RBI and a homer for the Huskies. The trio of Senn, Elijah Freeman, and Smith teamed for 12 strikeouts.
North Forsyth 5, Perry 2, 11 inn.
The visitors scored three in the top of the 11th to win. Dylan Butler had thee hits and Brayden Long two for the Panthers, whose three pitchers struck out 14 and walked 11 while North Forsyth pitching whiffed 22 Panthers against two walks.
Putnam County 9, Jasper County 3
A pair of late four-run innings did it for the visitors, who outhit Jasper County 9-2 and survived four errors. Bryce Shorter and Ashton Jones had two hits each for Putnam County. Miles Proctor drove in three runs for Jasper County. Reliever Gerald Kilgore struck out six in 2.2 innngs.
Rutland 3, GMC 1, 9 inn.
The Hurricanes got two in the top of the ninth, and Dylan Pope got into and out of a two-on/one jam in the bottom half to preserve the win. Phoenix Blackwell opened the top half reaching second on an error in left on his fly ball. Another error, a fielder’s choice and walk – along with a passed ball - brought in the lead run. Casen Summerday had two hits for the Hurricanes, also fanning 11 with a walk in going the first seven innings.

The Knights’ six errors led to eight unearned runs. But Upson-Lee pitchers Jackson Blakely, Beau Ellington, and Trey Webb struck out 12 with two walks.
