          Taylor County grad Gunnar Watson threw three touchdown passes and was named the game’s MVP, completing 12 of 17 for 318 yards and scores on five of Troy’s first six drives. The Trojans had nine pass plays of 15-plus yards and six of 20-plus.

            Peach County grad Mitchell Fineran (video interview) was 5 for 5 on field goal tries (from 27 to 45 yards) for Purdue, setting  a career high. He broke the conference record for FGs in the title game, and tied for second-most in a Purdue game. He is the Boilermakers’ fourth-most prolific kicker with 42 field goals, and remains first in school all-time accuracy at 79.2 percent.
