A close game at halftime went the way of the home team with two third-quarter touchdowns as GMC suffered its second loss of the season.
GMC (8-2) gave up 16 more first downs, and 288 yards rushing.

Furman was able to get field goals, and the defense held Mercer to its lowest total of the season in a battle of ranked Southern Conference teams.
The loss put a major dent in No. 11/14 Mercer’s postseason hopes, the Bears dropping to 7-3 and 5-2, and into a tie for third with Chattanooga, which lost to Samford on Saturday. No. 16/13 Furman is 8-2 and 6-1, and in sole possession of second.
Mercer can jump back in to the race with a win next week at Samford in the regular-season finale.
Samford, which beat Furman in early October, clinched the conference’s automatic bid, regardless of the outcome against Mercer.
