Class 5A

Warner Robins 31, Jenkins 13
The Demons took care of things early, storming out to a 24-0 first-quarter lead, starting with a 57-yard TD pass from Case Reese to Cam Flowers on Warner Robins’ second play from scrimmage. They added a safety on Jenkins’ next possession after a bad punt snap. Trey Gunnings scored on a short run at the 6:31 mark of the first quarter, and Reese plowed in from the 2 four minutes later. Jenkins broke the shutout 90 seconds into the fourth quarter.

Ware County 55, Jones County 13
What was a close game early progressively went in favor of the home team and top-ranked team. The Gators  (10-0) put it to the Greyhounds (6-5) with 168 passing yards and 206 rushing yards, converting yards into four touchdowns on the ground and two through the air and two field goals. Judd Anderson’s 30-yard TD pass to Javious Bond tied it midway through the first quarter, but Ware County started taking over soon after that, including a punt return of 90 yards. Bond caught three passes for 60 yards to go with a team-high 78 yards on 17 carries. Anderson was good on 17 of 32 passes for 239 yards, with two scores and three picks, plus a sack. The Greyhounds were outgained only 374-344. It’s Jones County’s worst loss since falling 54-7 to Westside in the middle of the 2008 season.

Class 3A

Peach County 23, Crisp County 0
Peach County (8-3) recorded its second shutout of the season, four weeks after blanking Upson-Lee 54-0. Crisp County (5-6) was shut out for the second straight week. Peach County led 3-0 after one, and 16-0 at halftime en route to their eighth straight first-round win. Chris McMillian ran for 228 yards on 34 carries, and Colter Ginn was 9 of 17 for 159 yards and a score.

Dougherty 39, Mary Persons 23
The visitors took control early, leading 20-3 at halftime. The Bulldogs (6-5) got within 27-10 on Logan Hickman’s keeper with 8:54 left in the third, and crept closer a little more than three minutes later when Hickman connected with Carter Campbell from 22 yards out at the 5:25 mark, making it 27-17. But the Trojans (9-2) scored on a 6-yard run with early in the fourth quarter to go up two full possessions, and sealed it with another score on the ground with eight minutes left.

Carver-Columbus 39, Upson-Lee 0
Carver handed the Knights (4-7) their third straight shutout, all by big scores, by 54, 33, and 39. The Tigers (8-3) wracked up their second straight shutout and third of the season in the fourth straight first-round win. The hosts led 15-0 after one and 21-0 at halftime.
