            Mary Persons’ home games Friday against Jackson were without fans, because of reports that retaliatory violence related to the recent shooting at the Wal Mart in Forysth was possible. The JV games were cancelled. Fans who bought tickets through GoFan can get a refund. Saturday’s home games against Howard are still on, varsity only, with the girls at noon and the boys to follow. Metal detectors will be employed.

            De’Asia Canty’s double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds topped the Golden Hawks. Ashley Gray added 13 points, seven steals and five rebounds. Makaili Parker was close to a double-double, with 12 points and eight rebounds, Tamia Thomas grabbing 10 boards. Lyric Green had 16 for short-handed Dodge County, Altierra Gooch adding 15 and Glenna Rae Whitley 11.

            The Trojans had a steady attack, with 16 points each from Evan Tharpe, Quay Anglin, and Felton Farrar. Jasper County almost matched it, with 16 from Kemarion Thomas, and 15 each from Randy Williams and Marlerio Stone.

Javecckio Thomas chipped in 15 points and eight rebounds, with Kamonta Durden good for 11 boards. Heaven Carson had 17 for the Indians, 15 coming on 3s. Nine of Jadeon McLendon’s 11 points came on 3s.
