Henley fires another under-par round
After a weekend pretty much atop the leaderboard, Russell Henley is in the middle of the pack at the American Express in California, but still playing good golf.
He turned in his second straight 2-under round and is nine under through three rounds. Henley had four birdies and two bogeys for the second straight day, doing the same thing in those two days on only one hole, birdying No. 5.
A year after not making the cut in the tournament, Henley is tied for 39th, 10 shots back of co-leaders Lee Hodges and Paul Barjon.
Henley is in the top 15 in the FedEx Cup rankings and entered the tournament 40th in the Official World Golf Rankings. He is skipping the next stop on the California tour, the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in San Diego.
He has made all six cuts this season, with five finishes at tied for 25th or better. In 27 rounds, he has shot worse than 70 only twice.
