Mercer 24, Furman 3

Mercer beat Furman for the second time in 2021, the Bears taking a 26-14 win in April.

Both teams were good on third down, but the Bears were better in pass defense, picking off three passes, courtesy of Luke Ward, Yahsyn McKee and Michael Campbell.

Furman led 3-0 less than six minutes into the game, and that was it. The Bears scored almost five minutes later, and added touchdowns in the second quarter to take control.

Fred Davis ran 18 times for 94 yards, with Brandon Marshall rushing for two touchdowns and 66 yards. Fred Payton completed half of 20 attempts for 168 yards, a score and a pick
