The hosts put up 16 in the first inning of the 2.5-inning game, needing only seven hits, thanks to four errors and 14 walks. Destiny Lucas had two hits for ACE, and Dixiana Sims struck out nine.

Perry had a 15-10 lead entering the bottom of the seventh, and the Eagles made the Panthers sweat with four runs, all on Madelyne Lee’s two-out grand slam. But reliever Ashley Kay Moon followed a walk with a game-ending strikeout. Lee drove in a whopping eight runs with four hits, including two homers. She missed hitting for the cycle by, of all things, a single. Ava Garrett, AliRae Dykes, and Reagan Hughes each had two hits for Perry, Hughes with four RBI.
