Macon Touchdown Club preps for another year

          A few new faces will join many familiar ones when the Macon Touchdown Club gets going for 2021.

          Former Georgia and NFL punter Drew Butler starts the season on Sept. 13, followed by Kennesaw State head coach Brian Bohannon.

          Georgia State athletics director Charlie Cobb, a member of the College Football Playoff committee, visits on Sept. 27, with Maconite Chris Hatcher of Samford a week later.

          Dari Nowkah of ESPN/SEC Network precedes Georgia Southern’s Chad Lunsford on Oct. 11, with new South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer coming on Oct. 25.

          Mercer’s Drew Cronic starts off the next month on Nov. 1, with Georgia Tech assistant and former running back standout Tashard Choice on Nov. 8.

          Terry Harvin, a former Georgia Southern punter and current member of the team’s radio network, speaks on Nov. 15, with ex-Brave and Falcon Brian Jordan on Nov. 22, and J. Scott Moore of “I talk SEC” on Nov. 29.

          Georgia head coach Kirby Smart returns for the jamboree in early 2022.

          The club gathers at the Metehodist Home for Children at 304 Pierce Ave., with the program starting at 6:30 with dinner. Dues for the season are $250, with weekly guest fees of $30.
