Henley off to another good start
Russell Henley is far from home, but not far from the quality golf he’s been playing lately.
The Stratford grad turned in a solid back nine and finished strong for an even-par 70 in the first round of the British Open in Sandwich, England.
He’s in a logjam at 48th, along with Richard Bland, Jason Kokrak, Daniel Berger, Kevin Kisner, and Rory McIlroy, among others.
Henley opened the day with a birdie, but had three bogeys on the front nine. He settled down, and finished the back nine with three birdies, a par and a bogey in the final four holes.
Henley tees off at 4:25 a.m. EST on Friday, with Webb Simpson and Shaun Norris.
