Signings

          At Dublin: Brianna McRae is the first Irish female athlete to sign a dual scholarship, heading to Reinhardt for women’s basketball and women’s track. She averaged more than 22 points a game in her four-year basketball career, and is second all-time in scoring, and won the 2019 Class AA state title in the 110 hurdles.

          At Upson-Lee: Jakhia Parker has signed with Albany Tech.

GMC falls in national tournament opener

          The top-ranked team in the NJCAA showed why, Salt Lake Community College starting off hot and finishing off a 6-0 win over GMC JC Tuesday in the NJCAA national tournament in Yuma, Ariz.

          Salt Lake pitching gave up only three hits, with nine strikeouts against two walks. Jane Shellhorse turned in a nice outing in the circle for GMC, with six strikeouts and walk, with six hits in six innings.

          The Bulldogs play Chattanooga State at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in an elimination game. CSU lost 1-0 to San Jacinto-South.
