Mercer, winningest softball coach part ways

Another 35-win season clinched by Mercer

Henley off to brutal start at PGA Championship

His day started with a bogey. And then another one. And then three before making the turn.

Russell Henley will have to follow his worst round since February of 2019 (AT&T Pebble Beach) with perhaps his best in awhile to make the cut at the PGA Championship in Kiawah Island, S.C.

The Stratford grad shot a 6-over 78 and is tied for 127th in a field of 155

It was a staggering day of eight bogeys in 18 holes, with two birdies. He spent seven of the nine holes after the turn at 4-over or worse.

Henley’s highest score this season before Thursday was 75, at The Players Championship (148, missed cut) and the fourth round of last week’s Wells Fargo, a rough 9-over 293.

He tied for 37th in last year’s PGA at TPC Harding in San Francisco. Henley didn’t play in 2019, and tied for 50th in 2018.
