6A-Houston County 5, Allatoona 0; Wednesday, vs. Lassiter Truist Park, state championship series

Andrew Dunford turned in a huge performance on the mound, giving the Bears a complete-game shutout on 96 pitches as they moved onto the state championship series. Dunford gave up four hits, striking out four with two walks in handing the Bucs their first shutout of the season. He did hit a batter and throw a wild pitch, but never let Allatoona do much with anything.
The offense gave him all he needed with a run in the top of the first on Treyson Hughes’ single, a grounder, and then Coleman Willis’ run-scoring single to right. They sealed it with three in third on singles from Gage Harrelson and Dunford and walk to Hughes, followed by a sac fly to left by Willis. Then came a two-run double by Drew Burress. Harrelson, Willis, Burress, and Trent Ringer had two-hit nights, Willis and Burress with two RBI each. Houston County took advantage of there errors that helped lead to four unearned runs. The Buccaneers ended the season at 32-7
