Henley finishes Wells Fargo

          There wasn’t much good about the weekend for Russell Henley after an odd Wells Fargo Classic.

          It was his worst tournament of this season by far, Henley shooting a 4-over 75 on Sunday to finish in the bottom 10.

          His 293 was his highest score of the year by nine strokes, and 9 over was his highest by five strokes. Last year’s worst was a 289 at Houston and 6 over at the BMW.

          The day start off bad, with five bogeys in a seven-hole span on the front night, putting him at 40 at the turn. And yet he stabilized things and had eight pars and a birdie on the back nine.

          On Thursday, he had four bogeys on the back nine (his first nine, starting on 10), and eight pars and a birdie on the front nine. Friday was a two-birdie, one-bogey day, and Saturday’s back nine was fogged up by three bogeys and three birdies, with two bogeys on the front nine.

          He missed the cut here in 2019 and 2018.
