4A-West Laurens 2, Marist 0; Marist 11, West Laurens 0; Tuesday, 5:30 p.m., at West Laurens
Colton Scott got just enough offense in a pitchers duel, striking out eight with two walks and five hits, West Laurens managing two runs – both in the first - on four hits. Marist stranded eight runners to four for the Raiders. Matthew Mebane and Carson Estep had the first-inning RBIs. Marist more than countered in the second game, with four in the first and three in the third while holding the Raiders to one hit in the 4.5-inning game.
2A-Bleckley County 11, Bremen 1; Bremen 14, Bleckley County 4; Tuesday, 4 p.m., at Bleckley County
The Royals went off for five in the first and cruised to a five-inning win that included five Bremen errors and nine unearned runs. Eli Mullis, Ethan Hulsey, and Matt Huff had two hits each for the Royals, with three-RBI games from Carter Brannon and Huff. Brody Little was efficient with two strikeouts and no walks in a six-hitter, needing 71 pitches in five. Bremen went off for nine in the first inning of the five inning nightcap that included five Bleckley County errors and six unearned runs. J.R. Fordham belted a homer and had three RBI, while Matthew Bland had two hits and two runs.
A Public-ACE 7, Claxton 1; ACE 5, Claxton 4, 10 inn.; at Wilcox County or Gordon Lee
JD Lewis had three hits and two runs to lead ACE, which led 4-0 after three. Blake Smith and Chandler Mitchell each had two RBI for the Gryphons, who got a six-hitter from Fisher Timms. Claxton tied the nightcap with two runs in the bottom of the seventh and barely missed winning it then. ACE got a one-out double from Zane Johnson, a passed ball, and sac fly from Timms in the top of the 10th and then retired Claxton in order in the bottom half.
A Private-Tattnall 5, Mt. Paran 4; Mt. Paran 7, Tattnall 1; Tuesday, 6 p.m., at Mt. Paran
The Trojan stayed one up most of the game, the teams matching scoring in three of the final four innings. Two in the sixth put Tattnall up, and Mt. Paran got within one in the bottom of the seventh, the tying run stranded by reliever Benjamin Stubbs at third on a game-ending fly to center. Carter Fink, Russ Miller, and Cooper McMullen had two hits each for Tattnall, which survived 10 left on base by Mt. Paran. In the nightcap, the hosts got off to a good start with four in the first, and the Tattnall bats were unable to respond, being held to four hits while committing three errors and giving up four earned runs.
