          The opener was tied at 1 after one, but the hosts took over with three in the fourth. Levi Walker had two of Northside’s hits as the Eagles struck out 10 times. Westlake led the nightcap 7-1 after four and added four in the fifth, the final inning. Northside was no-hit, and four errors led to four unearned runs.

4A-Perry 10, Cairo 4; at Troup County

          The Panthers led the rubber game 6-3 after three, and sealed it with four in the fourth. Brayden Long’s 4-for-4 game helped the Panthers overcome an eight-walk, seven-strikeout pitching game. Tristen Freis, Lane Rucker, and Garrett Davis added two hits apiece, and Tyler Newhouse and Rucker with two RBI.

3A-Upson-Lee 17, Liberty County 0; Upson-Lee 8, Liberty County 2; at Pierce County

          A six-run first was more than enough for the Knights, who outhit Liberty County 16-2. Logan Spivey, Brooks Gulley, and Miller Patterson had three hits each, Gulley with five RBI, Patterson with four, and Spivey with three. Jackson Blakley and Austin Hendricks had two hits and three runs each, Steven Marriage adding two hits. Jake Willis threw a four-inning two-hitter, with eight strikeouts and no walks. Two in the fourth and three in the fifth sealed the nightcap for Upson-Lee, led by two-hit games from Hendricks and Miller Patterson. Hendricks sat down 13 with no walks in six innings.

 

AA-Bleckley County 11, Toombs County 3; Bleckley County 10, Toombs County 1; vs. Putnam County

          The Royals outhit the Bulldogs 11-4, and Brody Little needed only 88 pitches for the complete game four-hitter, fanning four with no walks. Conner Senters, J.R. Fordham, Ethan Hulsey, and Carter Brannon had two hits each for the Royals, Senters and Fordham with three RBI, Fordham a double and homer. A four-run fourth broke open a 1-all game, and the Royals clinched it with five in the fifth. Little went off for three hits and six RBI, including a grand slam, the Royals getting two hits from Senters, Brannon, and Caleb Senters. Conner Senters went six innings for the win.

AA-Dodge County 7, Bacon County 6; Dodge County 15, Bacon County 10; vs. Oglethorpe County or Thomasville

AA-Jasper County/Monticello 4, Jeff Davis 1; Jeff Davis 7, Jasper County 0; at Jeff Davis, Friday, 4:30 p.m.

          Two runs in the first held up in the opener, despite the Canes being outhit by two. Cole Hayes struck out six with a walk in a complete-game seven-hitter. Jasper County survived getting whiffed 12 times while drawing only one walk. The Hurricanes were outhit 10-3 in the nightcap, and three errors led to two unearned runs. Jasper County struck out 10 times, against three walks.

AA-Putnam County 4, Worth County 2; Putnam County 11, Worth County 4; at Bleckley County

AA-Vidalia 10, Washington County 0; Vidalia 16, Washington County 10; Washington County eliminated

A Public-ACE 13, Mt. Zion 3; ACE 11, Mt. Zion 0; vs. Social Circle or Taylor County

          ACE took a 8-2 lead after three in the opener, and ended in five despite only one more hit than Mount Zion, thanks to five unearned runs. Zane Johnson belted a gran slam, while Brayden Nesmith had two hits and two RBI. Lem Thompson had three RBI, and J.D. Lewis and Fisher Timms two RBI each. Timms went the distance for the win. Mount Zion had four errors in the nightcap, and no hits at the plate, courtesy of Chandler Mitchell, who struck out 10 with two walks in six innings. Thompson and Lewis had two hits, Mitchell and Timms two RBI each. Thompson scored three times.

A Public-Crawford County 3, Trion 0; Crawford County 14, Trion 6; vs. Schley County

          In the battle of two-hitters, Crawford County took advantage of three errors and three unearned runs. An error and three fielder’s choices brought in courtesy runner Pate Spires with the first run, in the fifth, and pitcher Caleb Carr made it stand up, with 10 strikeouts and three walks on 91 pitches. The Eagles took an 8-1 lead after two in the nightcap, and were boosted by nine errors and five unearned runs. Brennan Hudson drove in four runs on two hits. Derontae Stewart, and Trace Hodges also had two hits, the Eagles also working for nine walks.

A Public-Social Circle 5, Taylor County 0; Social Circle 11, Taylor County 1; Taylor County eliminated

A Private-FPD 5, Heritage-Newnan 4; FPD 9, Heritage 6; at Savannah Christian

          Coleman Cauley’s double to center brought in Jackson Moore with one out in the bottom of the sixth with what was the winning run. The Vikings survived two one-out runners in the top of the seventh. Cauley had two hits and Colton McDonald two RBI, Luke McCart going the distance. Barrett Barkley went the distance for the nightcap win, with eight strikeouts and two walks, seven hits. He had two hits, as did Hudson Mimbs and Parker Ingram.

A Private-Brookstone 3, Stratford 2; Brookstone 1, Stratford 0; Stratford eliminated

          Brookstone’s three in the second held up. Waldon Davis had half of the Eagles’ hits, and Lawson Cole fanned six with a walk and six hits in six innings. The hosts got the second game’s lone run in the first, and kept the Eagles off the board with four hits and only two stranded runners, courtesy of not drawing a walk. Garrett Lang had two of Stratford’s four hits. Micah Takac struck out six with two walks and five hits in 6.2 innings.

A Private: Tattnall 2, Trinity Christian 0; Tattnall 5, Trinity Christian 1; vs. Savannah Country Day or ELCA

          Tattnall managed only three hits in the opener, but Bo Hatcher threw a one-hitter, with 13 strikeouts and three walks. The Trojans managed more runs on the same hit total in the nightcap, a three-run second on two hits – including a bunt single – three walks, a hit batter, dropped third strike, and sac fly. Carter Fink struck out 12 with two walks in a three-hitter.
