GHSA state championship HQ (and fan info)

The GHSA state basketball championship week tips off at noon Wednesday and will have the final buzzer around 11 p.m. or so Saturday night.
The boys of Baldwin in Class 4A and Hancock Central in Class A Public are Central Georgia’s representatives. The connection? Baldwin head coach Anthony Webb spent 14 years leading Hancock Central, which is back to defend its state title. His Bulldogs reached four Final Fours, winning it in 2008 and finishing second in 2015.
Naturally, there are some changes to attendance this year, and this story is likely to be updated before Wednesday.
Everybody in the Macon Coliseum must wear face coverings and should adhere to social distancing standards at all times. Attendees are subject to a temperature check (maximum of 100.3 for admission). A “clear bag” policy is in ieffect, and people are subject to a routine metal-detector and touchless bag search at entrances.
See here for what bags – including backpacks – are not allowed in the Coliseum this week.
Tickets are $15 per day, including parking. Parking will be allowed only in marked spaces, and cars on the curb or grass will be towed.
There will no re-admission, and fans having purchased their ticket online should save it for easy access on their phone, and have it ready before reaching the door.
The early weather report is quite good – little to no chance of rain, highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s and 50s – so arriving at least 30 minutes before the scheduled tip of a preferred game and preparing to wait outside is advised.
Georgia Public Broadcasting, in conjunction with the National Federation of High Schools Network, will broadcast the finals for 4A through 7A. To see others, an account with NFHS - $10.99 for a month – must be purchased, but that allows access to previous games, as well as other options.
