Henley picks up steam in third round

A 7-under day put Russell Henley in the hunt for a top-10 finish at the CJ Cup in Las Vegas.

The Stratford grad moved into a tie for 14th with a 65, improving 21 spots from Friday.

He had four birdies on the front nine and back nine, with a bogey on 16.

Rickie Fowler, in a long slump, took the lead and is up by two strokes. Henley is seven shots behind Fowler.

Henley is taking a week off, skipping the Zozo Championship in Japan. The next two tournaments are outside the US, the Butterfield Bermuda Championship and the World Wide Technology Championship in Mexico.

After that is the Houston Open from Nov. 11-14.
