GHSA dual preliminaries feature 16 area teams

          A chunk of Central Georgia teams will compete this weekend in the GHSA’s dual wrestling state preliminaries.

          The top seed in each bracket is the host. Perry in 4A and Lamar County in AA are the lone Central Georgia teams that are top seeds and hosting a four-team event.

          Class 6A: Northside (R1/4) vs. North Atlanta (R4/1).

          Class 5A: Veterans (R1/4) vs. Ola (R4/1); Jones County (R4/3) vs. Wayne County (R1/2).

          Class 4A: Perry (R4/1) vs. Dougherty (R1/4); West Laurens A(R4/2) vs. Cairo (R1/3); Baldwin (R4/3) vs. Bainbridge (R1/2).

          Class AAA: Upson-Lee (R2/2) vs. Hephzibah (R3/3).

          Class AA: Dodge County (R1/2) vs. Temple (R4/3)

East Laurens (R2/3) vs. Jasper County/Monticell0 (R3/2); Lamar County (R3/1) vs. Swainsboro (R2/4); Putnam County (R3/3) vs. Toombs County (R2/2); Southwest (R3/4) vs. Vidalia (R2/1).

          Class A: Crawford County (R1/3) vs. Strong Rock Christian (R4/2); Dublin (R3/3) vs. Turner County (R2/2); Mount de Sales (R4/4) vs. Pacelli (R1/1).

          The state team duals are Jan. 30 at high schools sites rather than the Macon Coliseum because of COVID-19 issues.
