The final update will be ready around 11 a.m.

Class 6A (home team)

Houston County 17, Perry 10

Perry took a one-point lead midway through the third quarter and held it until Houston County scored with five minutes left on Jayleem Santos’ short run and added the conversion to regain the lead and hold it.

Veterans 17, Northside 7

The visitors held Northside scoreless until halfway through the fourth quarter and retained control for the huge program win.

Class 5A

Grayson 51, Jones County 13

Grayson didn’t do anything to tarnish high expectations and a national ranking, turning a 14-7 lead after one to a 37-13 halftime lead. The Rams got a safety, thanks to a bad punt, and took advantage of Jones County turnovers.

Valdosta 28, Warner Robins 25

Warner Robins got the lead early, and kept it, and kept it, and kept it, with big plays in all areas, including a kickoff return for a touchdown and a 90-yard run to set up another touchdown. But the Demons missed a PAT kick, and another, and a conversion, and a field goal. The door left open, Valdosta walked through with a 41-yard field goal with 25.3 seconds left, and then sweated out the Demons getting to the Wildcat side of the field – thanks to a hook-and-lateral – only for the Valdosta defense to force a scramble to end the game and give Rush Propst a win in his Valdosta debut.

Class 3A

Upson-Lee 31, LaGrange 19

The Knights broke a two-game losing streak in openers by taking control and using a solid defense to maintain the lead.

Class AA

Lamar County 43, Pike County 13

Devin Bateman threw for two touchdowns and ran for one to lead Lamar County, which led 21-6 at halftime and kept on rolling, getting touchdowns from Antonio Altman, C.J Allen, and a pass from Rhett Blount to Josh driver.

Bleckley County 27, West Laurens 19

A 19-0 lead wasn’t safe in Cochran, Bleckley County storming back to stun the Class 4A No. 4 Raiders. Stephen Butler’s touchdown put the Royals on top with 4:52 left in the game, and Christian Newbern all but sealed it with an interception return for a touchdown with about two minutes left. West Laurens lost starting quarterback Bradley Wilson to an injury. It was the most points scored against the Raiders by a lower classification team since 3A Westside’s 27-24 win in 2015.

Class A

Macon County 21, Clinch County 19

The Bulldogs picked up their first win over a ranked team since nipping No. 3 Taylor County on Sept. 22, 2017.

Creekside Christian 51, GMC 0

Mount de Sales 28, Jasper County/Monticello 14

A Kobe Butts interception return for a touchdown put MdS up 14-0, only for the visiting Purple Hurricanes to tied it late in the third quarter. A 10-yard TD pass from A’Khori Jones to Drew Senn with 7:49 left in the game put the Cavs up, and they added insurance with 1:34 left on Jones’ 31-yard score.

Taylor County 41, Crawford County 13
