Macon tied it in the top of the fifth, but Savannah pushed across the game-winner in the bottom half for a 4-3 win in seven innings.
Luther Woullard had two hits and three RBI for Macon. Both teams were held to five hits.
In split-squad action, Macon beat visiting Catawba 4-1 in seven innings. Tyler Williams and Cassius Young each had homers, Young driving in three runs. Starter Evan Boyle got the win and Austin Deming the save.
An intersquad game on Tuesday is followed by Macon visiting Lexington County on Wednesdy and hosting Savannah on Thursday.
