Central Georgia trio in women’s state am

          Jirapon Carlson of Macon is tied for 33rd with a 10-over 82 after a round at the Landings Club in Savannah tournament. Lucy Wiegert of Cochran is four shots behind and tied for 38th and Veterans grad Mailey Buzzell is 15 over and tied for 41st.

          Mary Miller of Savannah has sole possession of first with a 69, the lone under-par score in the first round.

GHSA board to meet Monday

                  No motions or votes are expected when the GHSA’s Board of Trustees meets at 1 p.m. Monday in Thomaston at the GHSA office.

                  The lone topic on the agenda is to discuss the fall sports season, which has already taken place in South Carolina, Tennessee, and Alabama, among other places.

                  High school associations across the land are all in the same boat.
