Saturday's Daily News 'n Notes: West Laurens signings; busy week at Clemson; too early to talk much about FB; MLB whiffs again; and more
Saturday’s Central Georgia - and of interest to Central Georgia - news and notes, compiled from staff reports, email reports, the web, and social media.
Signings
A pair of West Laurens standouts signed during the week with in-state schools.
Ariyonna Jones, the Region 2-4A 400 champ in 2019, is headed to Clayton State for women’s track.
And multi-sport standout A.J. Mathis signed to play baseball at Georgia College. Mathis led the Raider football team at quarterback, and was a standout outfielder and pitcher whose final season, as with Jones, was wiped out by COVID-19.
