Saturday, May 8

Kelcey Butts and the defense came up big to lead Central to a 6-5 win to take the GHSA Class AA baseball series from Fitzgerald.

In GISA baseball action, FPD and pitcher Nick Mullis stormed past CFCA 16-2 to clinch, while Westfield and pitcher Caleb Weaver did the same 6-1 over Pinecrest.

John Milledge bounced back from a 19-9 loss to sweep Stratford  11-3 and 2-1

FPD scored four goals in the first 20 minutes to hammer John Milledge 11-0 in GISA Class AAA girls soccer playoff action. Westfield’s season ended with a 1-0 loss to Young Americans

Mercer’s Jacob Tanis ranks in the top 25 in national college baseball in RBI, homers, total bases, RBIs per game, homers per game, hits, and runs, while batting .374

Monday, May 10

Georgia College gets an NCAA Division II baseball tournament bid for the ninth time in school history and is sent to Francis Marion

Orlando ends Atlanta’s season in sweeping fashion with a 98-84 win in Atlanta, winning the four games by an average of 25 points
