          Stratford won its fifth straight region title. Nadia Reese led the way with 16 while Mary Elaine Mitchell added 13.

          The Demons led 30-22 at halftime, but a three-point third quarter got Veterans right back into it to force overtime. Quon Dillard led the Demons to their seventh straight title with 13 points, Greg Jones adding 11. Rodney James led the Warhawks with 15 points, Jalyn Williams adding 13 and TJ Grant 11.

          Jarden Maze led the way for the Golden Hawks (18-6) with 22 points and eight rebounds, while Jeremiah Gundy added 11 and seven. Kejuan Bloodsaw chipped in eight points, five assists, and two steals. Washington County won its third title in four years.

          The hosts sent Jones County into the third-place game.

          The Raiders take second in the region.

2. Baldwin 58, 3. Burke County 56

          The win puts Baldwin in Saturday night’s championship.

 

Region 4-AAA

Rutland 62, Kendrick 58

          The Hurricanes are at home to play for the region title.

Jackson 60, Central 43

          The Red Devils face the host for the championship.

 

Region 3-AA

Washington County 51, Northeast 33

          Four Golden Hawks were in double figures, led by Ashley Gray’s 10-points/17-rebounds night, plus three blocks. Miracle Parker had 15 points and three steals, Mikaili Parker 13 points and three steals, and Destinee Ellison 10 points and four steals. Up next is host Southwest at 7 Saturday for the title.

Southwest 57, East Laurens 38

          The Patriots will be at home to play Saturday for the title. Stantagious Alford led Southwest with 20 points, Shygeria Williams adding 14 and Jakhyla Johnson 12. Kristen Hubbard and Ikeria Hamilton had 10 each for the Falcons.

 

Region 8-AA

Union County 59, Putnam County 51

          Putnam County plays at 4 p.m. Saturday for third.

 

Region 4-A

          Central Talbotton 51, Dooly County 37

          Greenville 47, Macon County 42

 

Region 7-A

Stratford 52, Lake Oconee 36

          Stratford plays for another region title, Saturday at 7 at Hancock Central. The Eagles outscored Lake Oconee 31-13 in the second half, and were led by Nadia Reese’s 20 and Mary Elaine Mitchell’s 10.

GMC 56, Wilkinson County 36

          GMC is in the championship against Stratford.

          Top seed Covenant takes the title.

Region 1-6A

1. Valdosta 72, Houston County 68

          The Bears play Coffee for third.

 

Region 1-5A

Warner Robins 69, Harris County 51

          Harris County had the region champs sweating, the game tied at 40 after three quarters. The Demons (20-4) exploded for 29 points in the fourth quarter and held Harris County to 11 to reach the final for the seventh straight time. Keshun Houser went off for 28 points, Greg Jones adding 12 points and eight rebounds, and Rashaun Tomlin 10 points.

Veterans 81, Bainbridge 59

          A big night from DeAngelo Hines with 24 points and 21 points from Horace Johnson paced the 24-2 Warhawks, now in the region title game on their home court. Rodney James added 15 points and Jalyn Williams 12.

 

Region 4-5A

Woodland 75, Jones County 65, 2 OT

          Jones County takes fourth.

 

Region 2-4A

Upson-Lee 58, West Laurens 44

          Derius Hayes led Upson-Lee to its fifth straight region title with 17 points.

 

Region 3-4A

Baldwin 62, Burke County 58

          The Braves of first-year head coach Anthony Webb will play Saturday night for the title.

 

Region 4-AAA

Central 90, Peach County 49

          The Chargers cruised into the title game.

1. Westside 56, Rutland 44

          The Seminoles face Central in the finale.

 

Region 3-AA

Washington County 57, Northeast 43

          A 15-point night from Jeremiah Gundy and Jarden Maze pushed the Golden Hawks into the title game for the fourth straight year. Maze had eight rebounds and Gundy five.

          The Irish are back in the championship.

          Northeast takes on second seed Washington County at 4 p.m. Friday at Southwest. Kaonta Goolsby scored 31 for the Indians, with Kylie Hart adding 17 and Sanaa Searles 15.

          The Vikings face host Greenville at 7 p.m. Thursday.

          The Bears move on to the state tournament, and play top seed and host Valdosta at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Houston County led 32-30 at that half, and got a slight cushion with a 12-7 third quarter. Jordan Brown finished the season in style for the Eagles with 15 points, 14 rebounds, and 15 blocks. Jacari Saffold added 18 points and Gage Williams 11. Kobe Nelson and Isaia Harris had 10 each for the Bears, who improved to 12-11.

 

Region 4-5A

3. Jones County 64,  6. Stockbridge 42

          The Greyhounds advanced to the state tournament behind 17 points from Bryson Wooten, 14 from Joseph Jackson, a double-double from Chavis Mathis with 11 points and 11 rebounds plus four assists. Jones County plays at 4 p.m. Thursday against  Eagle’s Landing or Locust Grove,

 

Region 4-AAA

4. Rutland 71, 5. Jackson 56

          The Hurricanes now get top seed Westside at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

3. Peach County 82, 6. Kendrick 80

          The state-bound Trojans face Central at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

2. Central 101, 7. Pike County 37

          The Chargers battle Peach County at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

 

Region 3-AA

4. Bleckley County 67, 5. Southwest 44

          The Royals qualified for the state tournament, and now play top seed Dublin Friday at 8:30 p.m. at Southwest. Jahmir Marshall’s 24 points led the Royals, with Terrance Rozier adding 16 and Amarion Blackshear 12. Tremel Jackson had 14 and Malique Frazier 13 for the Patriots.
