Central Georgia region basketball scoreboard, Wednesday

 

The full Central Georgia region tournament pairings were posted Monday. An updated version will come Wednesday and Friday morning.

Scores will be updated overnight as updates are available. School/team/tournament officials should maintain a scoreboard and email it centralgasports@gmail.com, or Tweet to @centralgasports.

Teams need to send game information with 30 minutes of completion with stats, info, etc.

 

Note: Region 1-6A has moved to Friday and Saturday.

          The Raiders advanced to the title game at 7 p.m. Friday.

West Laurens 49, Howard 42

          The Raiders are back in the championship game after rolling, again getting Upson-Lee at 8:30 on Friday.

1. Upson-Lee 54, Spalding 44

          The Knights improved to 18-7 and into their fifth straight region tournament title game, Friday at 8:30 against West Laurens.

          The Falcons take on top seed Southwest at 7 p.m. Friday on the Patriots’ home court.

3. Northeast 89, Dodge County 88, OT

          Northeast takes on second seed Washington County at 4 p.m. Friday at Southwest. Kaonta Goolsby scored 31 for the Indians, with Kylie Hart adding 17 and Sanaa Searles 15.

 

Region 4-A

6 Taylor County 38, Schley County 36

          The Vikings face host Greenville at 7 p.m. Thursday.

 

Region 7-A

2E Lake Oconee 63, 3W FPD 50

2W Wilkinson County 53, 3E Hancock Central 43

          The Warriors face GMC at 7 p.m. Friday.

1E GMC 48, 4W Mount de Sales 27

          GMC advances to play Wilkinson County at 7 p.m. Friday.

1W Stratford 57, 4E Aquinas 35

          The top seed will play Lake Oconee at 4 p.m. Friday.

 

BOYS

Region 1-6A

4. Houston County 58, 5. Northside 54

          The Bears move on to the state tournament, and play top seed and host Valdosta at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Houston County led 32-30 at that half, and got a slight cushion with a 12-7 third quarter. Jordan Brown finished the season in style for the Eagles with 15 points, 14 rebounds, and 15 blocks. Jacari Saffold added 18 points and Gage Williams 11. Kobe Nelson and Isaia Harris had 10 each for the Bears, who improved to 12-11.

 

Region 4-5A

3. Jones County 64,  6. Stockbridge 42

          The Greyhounds advanced to the state tournament behind 17 points from Bryson Wooten, 14 from Joseph Jackson, a double-double from Chavis Mathis with 11 points and 11 rebounds plus four assists. Jones County plays at 4 p.m. Thursday against  Eagle’s Landing or Locust Grove,

 

Region 4-AAA

4. Rutland 71, 5. Jackson 56

          The Hurricanes now get top seed Westside at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

3. Peach County 82, 6. Kendrick 80

          The state-bound Trojans face Central at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

2. Central 101, 7. Pike County 37

          The Chargers battle Peach County at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

 

Region 3-AA

4. Bleckley County 67, 5. Southwest 44

          The Royals qualified for the state tournament, and now play top seed Dublin Friday at 8:30 p.m. at Southwest. Jahmir Marshall’s 24 points led the Royals, with Terrance Rozier adding 16 and Amarion Blackshear 12. Tremel Jackson had 14 and Malique Frazier 13 for the Patriots.

          TaNiya Pryor led the Chargers with 20 points, while Trazur Cooper turned in a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, McKenzie Evans grabbing 13 rebounds. Central faces top seed Jackson at  7 p.m. Thursday.

          The Hurricanes play Kendrick at 4 p.m. Thursday.
