            ILeasha Mitchell led the balanced Indians with 12 points, Sanaa Searles with 11 and Ambria Simmons with 10.

            The Eagles did their christening of the new gym with the romp. Kamia Ridley, Alaya Grane, and Dest’eyn Seaton had 10 points each for Northside.

            Alexia Heyward and Atiana Gilcrest had 14 points each for the 2-0 Trojans in the Region 2-3A opener. Heyward had a double-double, with 14 rebounds. T.T. Brown had 15 and Jaya Mann 14 for Mary Persons (1-2/0-1). Peach County is at Perry on Saturday at 6 p.m.

            Fitzgerald pulled it out in the final seconds, despite 19 from Dodge County’s Myshean Williams and 15 from Jaedon McLendon (three 3-pointers). Caleb Singletary added 10.

            The Greyhounds rolled on the road in the 4-5A opener. Jaylen Sanford led the balanced four-in-double-figures attack with 17 points and seven rebounds.

Northside 78, West Laurens 50

            Tre Grane was too much for the Raiders, dropping 35 points to with 11 rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Jordan Brown added another double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, missing a triple-double by a block. Duke McClinton added 11 points.

            Alex Brown led the Bulldogs with 17 points, five board, and five steals, while Antonio Palmer turned in a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds to go with four blocks and three assists. Kham Little added 12 points.

            Marcus Slaton led the 1-1 Knights with 20 points, half in a big fourth quarter. The Knights blew open a 32-22 halftime game.

Veterans 71, Houston County 55

            TJ Grant did damage for the Warhawks with 22 points, while DeAngelo Hines was right behind with 19, Tajh Williams chipping 10 for 2-0 Veterans.

Warner Robins 84, Rutland 49

            The Demons took control with a 26-12 first quarter. Greg Jones led the way with 21 points, Cameron Perkins adding 12 and Rashuan Tomlin 11. Scott and Chapman had 11 each for the Hurricanes. Warner Robins hosts Jones County Thursday.
