Macon TD Club welcomes radio host Moore

          Sports talk radio host Scott Moore is the speaker Monday night at the Macon Touchdown Club.

          The club meets at the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, in the Rumford Center, at 304 Pierce Ave. It starts at 6:30 p.m. with dinner and the program to begin around 7. Cost is $30 for non-members.

          Howard is the featured high school. Steve Dennis, a Macon native, former UGA player, and longtime athletics administrator is next week’s speaker.

Henley finishes in top 30 at Houston

          Russell Henley’s consistent season continued on Sunday with a 68 to finish tied for 29th at the Houston Open.

          Henley had rounds of 69, 72, 69, and 68 for a two-under 278. He was bogey free on Sunday, with two pars.

          Carlos Ortiz shot a 13-under 267 to win

          Henley was tied with Charley Hoffman and former Georgia Tech standout Cameron Tringale.

          The Stratford grad is 20th in the FedEx Cup rankings, and 58th in the Official World Golf ranking, ahead of No. 64 Phil Mickelson, No. 66 Graeme McDowell, No. 80 Jordan Spieth, and No. 89, Brandt Snedeker, among others.
