Macon TD Club welcomes Matt Stinchcomb; last week’s honorees
Former Georgia and NFL offensive lineman and current ESPN/SEC analyst Matt Stinchcomb is Monday’s speaker at the Macon Touchdown Club.
The club meets at the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, in the Rumford Center, at 304 Pierce Ave. It starts at 6:30 p.m. with dinner and the program to begin around 7. Cost is $30 for non-members.
Stinchcomb replaces Georgia Southern head coach Chad Lunsford, originally schedule for the night. Southern college football radio host Chuck Oliver is next week’s speaker, in place of Samford head coach Chris Hatcher.
Northeast is this week’s featured high school.
Stinchcomb's broadcast career started shortly after his football career ended.
Stinchcomb graduated from Parkview after earning All-American honors, which he then earned while playing at Georgia from 1995-98. He earned the Jacobs Blocking Trophy in the SEC in 1998, as well as the Draddy Trophy and Jim Parker Trophy.
He is in the Georgia-Florida Hall of Fame and is a College Football Hall of Fame nominee. Stinchcomb was a first-round draft pick in 1999, and played with Oakland and Tampa Bay until retiring in 2005.
Stinchcomb and former Georgia quarterback David Greene operate the Atlanta office for Seacrest Partners, an investment brokerage firm.
