Around/About Central Georgia
First round dooms Henley at Sony
Russell Henley’s second round at the Sony Open in Hawaii was a fairly normal one.
He shot a 1-under 69.
But the first-round 76 led to an early exit from the islands, Henley missing a third straight cut.
It was Henley’s first tournament since The RSM Classic in late November when he shot a second straight 143, following that score in the Mayakoba Golf Classic.
Four bogeys and a double bogey did Henley in after a round. He doubled and bogeyed No. 4, and bogeyed No. 2 and then birdied it. His second round was highlighted by three birdies – he had none on the first day.
Up next on the PGA schedule is The American Express in LaQuina, Cal., this week.
