Monday's Central Georgia - and of interest to Central Georgia - news and notes, compiled from staff reports, email reports, the web, and social media.
Peach County’s Jackson out for a few weeks at UGA
Kearis Jackson finally got a chance to start, and now he’s out for maybe a month. Jackson broke a few bones in his hand on a hit after a fourth-quarter catch Saturday against Vanderbilt.
Suddenly, Mercer has a game this week
Mercer was off, and Presbyterian was going to play Stetson on Saturday.
Dorian apparently didn’t like all that.
The major weather issues led to Presbyterian and Stetson cancelling their non-conference game, and PC picking up a home game with Mercer for the new season opener.
All in less than a week.
Kickoff is 2 p.m. in Clinton, S.C. The two haven’t played in the modern era.
Mercer is 1-0 after thumping Western Carolina 49-27.
