Baldwin 40, Greenbrier 14

The Braves got their first win of the season at the same point they got last season's first win, 14-0.

Bleckley County 35, Northeast 20
The Royals overcame a 14-7 deficit, and then broke open a 14-14 game and avenged last year's loss, taking the Region 3-AA opener. Bleckley County outscored Northeast 21-7 in the second quarter, and stayed in control despite the Raiders getting 323 yards in total offense. The Royals pulled ahead on a 93-yard pass from Dominic Sasser to Bryce Bailey midway through the second quarter, after recovering a fumble on the 2, and added another score with about three minutes left in the second quarter. The Royals killed a Raider possession inside the final minute on Jhamir Marshall's interception, maintaining the 28-14 halftime lead. Travion Solomon went 9 of 15 for 147 yards for Northeast, but no touchdowns and one pick. Deondre Duehart ran for 82 yards on 10 carries and two scores.

 Dodge County 45, Southwest 8

The Indians returned to normal, rolling to a 28-0 halftime lead. They got going early with Mikhail Carr's 9-yard run two minutes into the game, Nathan Coley adding a pick-6 six minutes later. Daylon Gordon ran it in from three yards out early in the second quarter, the Indian defense holding on fourth down near midfield and the offense adding a 17-yard TD pass from Kade Harpe to Keldrick Beck inside the final minute of the second quarter.

Dublin 77, East Laurens 13
With 7:31 left in the first, it was a one-point game, East Laurens failing on the conversion. By the end of the first quarter, the Irish led 35-6 en route to the highest point total in program history, topping the 70 scored against Vidalia in 2006. Zion Kemp and JaQues Evans each had two first-quarter touchdowns. Kemp added a 27-yard punt return score early in the second quarter. The Irish racked up 528 yards on offense, all on the ground on an 0-for-2 passing night. Marcus Adams ran for 134 yards on eight carries with three scores, Kemp adding 109 on five with two. J.T Wright needed three carries for 101 yards and a score. Two of Evans' four runs went for touchdowns in the tied-for-fourth largest margin of victory in Dublin history. East Laurens got 189 yards passing from Cole Strickland.

Greene County 49, GMC 9

Hawkinsville 42, Crawford County 39

The home team was up 39-21 only for Hawkinsville to double its point total and hold the Eagles scoreless for the Red Devils' first win of the year. Hawkinsville matched its season point total in the game.

Jackson 20, Central 18

Jackson went up 13-6 at halftime and then 20-6 with 4:37 left in the third, the Chargers scoring less than two minutes into the fourth only for the conversion pass to be picked off. They added another score five minutes later, but a bad conversion snap killed that attempt, and it was a two-point game. Jackson intercepted a pass deep in its own territory with less than three minutes to seal it.

Lamar County 28, Jordan 16

Keilyn Tyus, a member of the Macon Touchdown Club's Super Seven last season, returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown with just less than four minutes left to seal for the Trojans, now 5-0. Lamar County, minus quarterback Devin Bateman, went up 14-0 in the first on KT Brownlee's 15- and 62-yard scores. Tyus added a 3-yard run in the final minute of the half before the scoreless third quarter.

Macon County 34, Taylor County 28

Mount de Sales 28, Stratford 7
The Cavs were less than four minutes from their first shutout since 1985, and had to settle for their biggest win since 35-14 in 2009. This is the first two-game streak against the Eagles since 2009-10. MdS went up 14-0 after on a 14-yard TD pass from Dexter Williams to Conner Gilbert and a 14-yard run by Josiah Cotton. The Cavs added a Williams 1-yard score three minutes into the second quarter, and then Williams went in from 12 with 3:40 left in the third. Sean Wilmore's 10-yard run with 3:36 left in the game broke the shutout.
Williams was 10 of 19 for 183 yards passing but was held to only 15 yards on eight carries, Cotton leading the way with 59 yards on eight tries. QB Dell Sikes led Stratford, which tried only five passes, with 62 yards on 15 carries.

Peach County 77, Kendrick 14
It was 28-0 with four minutes left in the first, and it was 63-8 at halftime. QB Jayden Gibson was 12 of 17 for 313 yards in a half of work, and was one of nine Trojans to run the ball. D Smith caught four passes for 135 yards and two of Gibson’s four passing touchdowns. Noah Whittington touched it four times from scrimmage - two rushes and two catches – and scored twice. He caught Gibson’s first pass of the game, a 69-yard touchdown, and watched teammate Tijah Woolfolk catch Gibson’s second pass, a 51-yard touchdown. Peach County’s backups played the second half and rushed for 129 yards, helping the Trojans to the second-most points in program history, two short of the mark set against Kendrick two years ago. It was also tied for the second-largest margin of victory, behind that same game (82-0).

Rabun County 49, Monticello 20

Schley County 27, Dooly County 8

Tattnall 47, Twiggs County 6

A second-quarter lightning delay didn't slow down the Trojans, who were up 26-0 at the time. Tattnall led 19-0 after one, converting an interception into one touchdown.

Union County 74, Putnam County 57

The game finally ended at 10:45 p.m.

Veterans 13, Perry 3

The Warhawks went up 10-0 after one and held the Panthers scoreless until a fourth-quarter field goal, which Daniel Gibbs countered from 42 yards with about four minutes left.

Warner Robins 39, Northside 0
By halftime, the margin was the most Northside had trailed to anybody in awhile. And the 33-o halftime deficit was a records-checker. The Demons racked up their biggest win in the series since 41-6 in 1990, 41 being the most points scored by Warner Robins against Northside.. It was the second straight year Warner Robins cracked 30 points, and only ninth time overall in the rivalry. The record-setting win came three years after Northside set a series record with a 55-3 win. The last shutout in the series was Northside's 14-0 win in 2008. The Demons' last shutout of the Eagles was 21-0 in 1991.
It took the Demons more than four minutes to score, getting a pick-6 at the 7:42 mark. They added another on the final play of the quarter, a short Jahlen Rutherford run. The Demons' Ahmad Walker turned a fourth-down conversion into a touchdown late in the second quarter, and they added another one even later, on a Rutherford reverse with 52 seconds before half, which was a 27-0 lead. Northside quarterback Mason Ford was hurt in the first half, giving way to Elijah Robinson. Jalen Addie found Porter for a score at the end of the third, and the final touchdown came midway through the fourth.
The Demon defense stunned the Eagles, holding Northside to 45 yards in total offense on 37 plays, to 394 on 69 for Warner Robins. The Demons were balanced, with two more passing yards than rushing yards, getting 198 on 16 completions from Addie. Rutherford ran for 101 yards on 18 carries, James Smith 75 on 14. Five different receivers caught at least three passes for the Demons, led by Porter's four for 46 yards.

Washington-Wilkes 28, Hancock Central 14

West Laurens 21, Statesboro 7

West Laurens battled through some injuries and got two touchdown passes from A.J. Mathis (fighting an elbow contusion) and then normal steady defense to hand Statesboro its first loss of the year, and at home. Mathis' second TD pass went to Brent Carr for 30 yards and a 14-7 lead late in the third quarter. The fourth quarter was scoreless until a Raider touchdown inside the final two minutes. The Raiders did have head coach Kagan McClain on the sidelines. One of the two penalties last week for unsportsmanlike conduct on the sideline that led to McClain’s ejection in the third quarter of the loss to South Effingham was overturned, rendering his ejection moot.

Westside 42, Rutland 12

GISA/GAPPS

Brentwood 55, St. Andrews 21
St. Andrew thought it was rallying early, but Brentwood took a 28-14 halftime lead and put up 27 in the third for the blowout. Chase Everett scored on runs of 1, 13, 24, and 73 yards, C.J. Daniel added an 85-yad kickoff return for another score. McKinley Newton threw touchdown passes to Colby Johnson for 47 yards and Ford Sheppard for 45. Brentwood averaged 9.4 yards a play, with a 453-247 total offense advantage, 356 coming on the ground. Everett ran for 210 yards on 10 carries, Daniel adding 54 on two carries.

Gatewood 37, Westwood 6

Southwest Georgia 62, Piedmont 22

John Milledge 48, Westfield 0
Amaad Foston ran for 141 yards and a touchdown while Justin Aldridge scored on offense and defense for the Trojans, who led 21-0 after one and 41-0 at halftime. The JMA defense held Westfield to minus-1 yard rushing and seven yards passing, picking off three passes. Aldridge returned one of them 85 yards for a score, adding a 1-yard run later. The Trojans got touchdowns from six different players. QB Patrick McDonell on a short run, Taylor Dixon on a 65-yard punt return, Kelvin Jackson on a 9-yard run and Tyler Greene on a 1-yard run added scores for the Trojans.
